Behaviour
Edmund Chia
July 11 - August 15, 2010

Behaviour sets up and breaks down one’s framework for beholding.  Edmund Chia initiates a conduct modeled on shifts, moments, and pause. Here noun and verb meet sharing a capacity to infinitely reverberate. The works live in the studio, become constellations, and form their present display celebrating the new, while simultaneously commemorating the past. Chia produces what one could call icons, functioning as malleable declarations set on stage and in scene. The consonance between mode and means sharpens behavior to re-route while en route.  The exhibition on view has enveloped a matured condition, opting to hum rather than land.

Edmund Chia received his MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009. His work has been exhibited in Honolulu, New York, and Chicago. Chia lives and works in Chicago, IL.
