Greek Literature Study Group

This informal study group met (every fourth Sunday) to discuss a selective curriculum of early Greek to early Latin Literature. Whenever possible, the texts consisted of primary sources, in translation, with historical commentary and testimonia when appropriate. Because there is not a specialist or authority on the material involved in the group, the burden of making meaning out of these texts fell upon every group member. All were expected to arrive to the meetings having read the material closely, prepared with questions and comments, facilitating discussion and the group's collective understanding of the texts.
